ACCOMMODATION

On the Day

Parking at Summergrove is limited so we encourage our guests to use the buses we are arranging to transport them to and from the event. While getting an Uber or taxi to the venue will be no issue, booking one after will be difficult due to the area. To reserve your seat, please indicate you would like transportation on your RSVP form and from which pick-up point.

Pick up and drop off will be at:

Mantra Twin Towns Coolangatta (Cnr of Griffith St and Wharf St, Tweed Heads NSW 2485), and

Club Wyndham Kirra (7 Winston St, Coolangatta QLD 4225)

Getting There

The nearest airport to Summergrove Estate is the Gold Coast Airport (OOL) which is roughly a 20-minute drive from the venue.

If you choose to drive up, Summergrove is 8.5 hours drive from Sydney and 17.5 hours drive from Melbourne.

Staying There

For guests who are only staying the weekend, a car is not a necessity for the trip. Everything in Coolangatta is walkable with little to no incline (unless you are staying at the Greenmount). If you plan to stay longer or explore more of the Gold Coast, keep in mind that Ubers can get costly (approx. $50 one way) so hiring a car or driving up won't be a bad idea.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I RSVP?

What is the deadline to RSVP?

I submitted my RSVP so long ago that I've forgotten my answers to the form. What do I do?

I need to update one of my answers to the form. How can I do this?

I accidentally sent an RSVP twice. What do I do?

Please RSVP through our website's RSVP Portal. This would be the most convenient way for the bride and groom as it means your response doesn't get lost in their phones.

We kindly ask our guests to RSVP by Sunday, 24 March 2024 using our portal. However, please don't be afraid to RSVP earlier as this would give us a great insight as to the numbers needed for the transportation of our guests and the care of any children under the age of 12.

Don't worry. We can always send you a PDF of all your answers as we have it saved on file. Simply send us a request by email. However, each of our guests will receive a copy of their responses when the portal closes on Sunday, 24 March 2024.

You can update your answers anytime before 19 April 2024 by email. Don't forget to also tell us who the change applies to in your party.

No worries, we'll only take into account the latest submission in your name. Please make sure you've completed all the questions though. If you haven't, please submit a completed form through our RSVP Portal.

  • What are the addresses for the wedding ceremony and the reception venues?

What is the easiest way to get to the venue?

    Is there parking available on-site?

What hotels will the buses be picking up from?

How do we reserve our sport on the guest buses?

I indicated on my RSVP form that I wanted a seat on the bus but now I've changed my mind. What do I do?

    Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The wedding ceremony and reception will both take place at Summergrove Estate at 363 Carool Rd, Carool NSW 2486.

The easiest way to get to Summergrove Estate is definitely by car. Because of its location, public transportation and ride-shares (Uber, taxis, etc) are quite difficult to come by, particularly late at night. To make things easier for our guests, we have arranged transportation to and from the venue from hotels in Coolangatta. Also, please note that the drive does involve a narrow road up a mountain. It is not difficult and the road is well-maintained, but we do recommend you take extra caution, particularly on your way back.

Yes, there is parking available on-site, but it is limited. All parking availabilities will be first come, first serve.

The buses will pick up guests from Mantra Twin Towns Coolangatta and Club Wyndham Kirra.

When you submit your RSVP response on our website portal, please check the box asking if you would like transportation to and from the wedding venue. Doing this will help us get a clearer idea of how many seats will be required.

If you’ve changed your mind, please email the bride and groom.

Yes, both the chapel and the barn are wheelchair accessible.

  • Have you reserved rooms at one or more hotels?

Where should I book my accommodation?

Are there any discounts for hotels?

To allow our guests the flexibility to choose the duration of their stay as well as their budget, the bride and groom have decided to not reserve any rooms. Instead, we have acquired discounts from multiple hotels, which can be found in the Accommodation section.

We recommend booking accommodation in Coolangatta due to the number of options in the area, all of which are roughly 20 minutes from the wedding venue. There are also options in Kingscliff and Surfers Paradise, however the former does not have many activities around and the latter is a substantial drive to Summergrove. Please take advantage of our recommended hotels found in the Accommodation section.

Yes, there are. Calypso Plaza Suites in Coolangatta have offered a 12% discount, while Peppers on Salt and Mantra on Salt in Kingscliff have both offered a 10% discount. Coolangatta’s The Sebel Twin Towns and Mantra Twin Towns have both offered a 5% discount for the guests. If you’d like to know more about booking and using these discounts, please send us an email

  • What is the dress code?

Are there any colours I should avoid?

What is the weather like in the area at that time of the year?

We kindly ask our guests to adhere to a formal dress code appropriate for a garden party. If you would like some inspiration, you can check out our Pinterest Board.

To avoid clashing with the bridal party, the bride and groom kindly ask their guests to avoid wearing solid colours in white, champagne, grey, baby blue, lilac, pale yellow, and mint green.

Summergrove in May is usually quite fine, with rare rainfall. However, please do prepare for a slight breeze as the venue is located at a higher altitude with very little tree cover. While temperatures range from 20-24 degrees, sun exposure does make it feel significantly warmer.

  • Can I bring a plus one?

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Why should I sign my kids up for the wedding's babysitting service?

What will the babysitters do with my kids?

Do my kids have to use the babysitting service?

Unfortunately, due to capacity restrictions, the wedding will be limited to named guests only.

While we adore your children, due to capacity limitations we request that only named guests attend, including children. The children that are invited, however, can utilise the on-the-day babysitting service that will be arranged by the bride and groom.

Having the babysitters on-site on the big day is the best way to ensure that everyone gets the best experience throughout the day. Parents will be free to enjoy the festivities knowing their children are being looked after, and the kids will be kept occupied throughout the day with fun games and activities.
To ensure that there are enough materials and equipment for everyone, please indicate on your RSVP whether your children will be making use of the service, even if it is only partially during the event.

Kids will be taken to a Kids Zone, where the babysitters will guide your kids through games and activities that they would find more stimulating than a normal wedding.

No, their participation in the service is not a requirement. But please keep in mind, that by not putting their names forward, parents will become liable for their children’s safety and behaviour.

  • Will there be meal options for guests with dietary requirements, intolerances and allergies?

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, of course. But please let us know beforehand through your RSVP submission so we can make sure our caterers bring it to your seat directly.

While the wedding will not have an open bar, there will be a generous bar tab that will begin at cocktail hour and continue until 15 minutes before the end of the reception. Please note that only wine and beer will be available from the beginning of the reception to the end of the formalities.

  • Am I allowed to take photos during the ceremony?

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony. Please turn off all devices and enjoy being fully present in this moment with us.

As this is a very special and intimate moment for us, we will be asking guests to refrain from sharing photos of us until we do. However, you are more than welcome to post photos of yourselves and the venue.

  • Do you have a wedding registry?

    Should we bring a gift?

    What is Sabitan?

The bride and groom recognise the amount of preparation it takes for their guests to attend their big day, so have opted out of a wedding registry. If you would like to gift them anything, a monetary donation can be made on the day through their Wishing Well or by partaking in Sabitan.

While the bride and groom appreciate your thoughtfulness, your presence on this special day is the best gift they could ask for. If you would like to gift them something, there will be a Wishing Well on the day or you can use the cash to partake in the Filipino tradition, Sabitan.

Otherwise known as the Prosperity Dance or the Money Dance, Sabitan is a Filipino tradition to help usher in financial abundance into the newlyweds’ future. The full name of the tradition is "Sabitan ng Pera" which translates to "to hang money". Guests will approach the bride and groom to dance with them while pinning their cash offerings onto their clothes or adorning them with sashes, crowns, and capes of cash. If you’d like to know more, please feel free to read Sinta & Co.’s article on the tradition here. If you'd also like to see the tradition in action, please check out the video

  • What time should I arrive at the wedding venue?

Will there be a time gap between the wedding ceremony and the reception?

Where can I find the wedding's timeline?

Will there be other events to attend on the weekend?

Summergrove Estate will open its gates for the arrival of guests at 2:30 PM. To ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly, the doors of the chapel will close 10 minutes before the ceremony’s 3 PM start time.

Yes, there will be as the bridal party will slip away for wedding photographs. However, guests will not need to make arrangements for the time between, because cocktails will be served a few metres away, outside the reception barn.

To view the complete outline of the wedding day, please head to the Wedding Timeline section.

There are no other formal events planned for the wedding weekend. However, the bride and groom encourage their guests to enjoy Coolangatta with their friends and family. We are considering informal events such as beach days and theme park outings. Please let us know if you'd be interested in coming along.
